ACUPUNCTURE

Acupuncture is one of the oldest methods used in traditional Chinese medicine (TCM) to cure diseases. Similarly to other therapies in TCM, acupuncture is based on the concept of qi, the internal energy that regulates the health of the patient. According to this principle, diseases are the result of the blockages in the flow of qi, which is why acupuncture aims to unblock the meridian system by stimulating anatomical locations with needles. Acupuncture is a safe method and does not cause side effects.

Acupuncture used by Master Zhang is combined with bioenergy. All techniques used in the treatments are the result of his many years of study and experience. One treatment takes about 60 minutes. At one session, the holistic treatment, it is expected to puncture from 40 to 100 needles depending on the patient’s condition. Such quantity is necessary to obtain better and faster results.

ACUPRESSURE (TUINA MASSAGE)

Tuina Tuina also known as acupressure is an ancient Chinese method of treatment. The name comes from its massaging techniques (tui – push and na – grab). Tuina is often used in combination with acupuncture, herbal medicine, fire cupping or guasha. Tuina is also based on Taoist principles of flow of energy qi and requires strong pressure on meridian points on patient’s body. The therapy is entirely safe and does not cause side effects. Sometimes after the session a patient may feel minor soreness. Bruises are less common. However intense pressure is necessary to achieve expected results.

Tuina Tuina is used for ailments such as: back pain, headache, joint pain, muscle tension, fatigue, problems with proper digestion, blood circulation, urinary system, skeletal system (muscles, tendons, bones), infertility and irregular menstruation, insomnia etc. Acupressure is also recommended to people, who are temporarily exhausted and tired. It helps to strengthen the body immunity and relaxes tense muscles.

Tuina One treatment lasts from 30 to 60min depending on individual needs and patient’s health condition.

BIOENERGY THERAPY

Bioenergy therapy based on qigong plays an enormous role in Traditional Chinese Medicine. The ability of healing patients with qigong requires many years of study and practice. Master Zhang in his treatments uses Tibetan qigong, which he has been practicing for over 25 years. Bioenergy therapy is used in combination with other methods of treatment such as acupuncture, tuina massage or herbal medicine. Bioenergy therapy involves transition of positive qi of the therapist into the patient’s body in order to regulate the internal energy balance. Bioenergy therapy is painless and pleasant. The feeling is often compared to the flow of electromagnetic waves.

FIRE CUPPING

Fire cupping is used to stimulate blood and lymph, thus improving the circulation and flow of qi. It has positive effects on respiratory diseases such as cold, pneumonia, bronchitis or asthma. It is also often used to cure digestive system, musculoskeletal pain (back pain, joint pain and abdominal area).

Fire cupping is usually combined with other treatments. It is painless and lasts about 40 minutes..

GUASHA

Guasha is a healing therapy based on a gentle scraping and rubbing repeatedly the relevant parts of the skin with an ox horn and essential oils to dredge the channel, stimulate the circulation of blood and lymph, and remove toxins from the body. Similarly to acupuncture or acupressure, it is aimed at activation of energy points. Guasha reduces inflammation, which is why it is often used to treat chronic pain such as arthritis and fibromyalgia. It is also helpful for migraines, spine pains, insomnia, menstrual pain, fatigue, hot flushes, and many other ailments.

The treatment is entirely safe. Sometimes it may be unpleasant as guash requires strong scrapping. After the session light bruises may appear on the skin however it disappears after a few days. Guasha is a simple treatment but very effective for many ailments which is why it has been used in China and Southeast Asia for thousands of years.

One guasha session lasts from 30 to 40 minutes.

MOXIBUSTION

Moxibustion is a therapy that uses burning sticks made of dried Chinese wormwood leaves to stimulate energy points. It is a form of fire heat treatment that warms the body and organs, activates blood circulation, strengthens immunity, lowers blood pressure and removes toxins from the body. Moxibustion is often used for chronic pain, muscle tension, injuries, and immune system disorders. It helps to remove chronic gastroenteritis, diarrhea, indigestion and menstrual cramps.

One session of moxibustion lasts about 40 minutes.

HERBAL THERAPY

Herbs have been used in Chinese medicine since ancient times. It is relatively rare to prescribe only herbs for the holistic treatment. Herbal medicine are generally used in combination with other therapies, such as acupuncture, tuina massage, fire cupping or guasha. Herbs are safe, they rarely cause side effects, but they must be prescribed by an experienced therapist.

Herbal medicine are usually used to cure such diseases as infertility, menstruation disorders and menopause, skin problems, obesity, insomnia and fatigue, digestive disorders, asthma, bronchitis, cold and flu, headaches and migraine, stress, depression, allergies, rheumatoid arthritis and bone, impotence and prostate disorders, etc. Herbal medicine could be a supplement for curing almost any diseases.

Master Zhang’s Clinic offers herbal medicine for various types of diseases. All medicines are certified in the European Union. The full offer is available at the Clinic.

DIETETICS

Chinese medicine classifies foods according to its energy properties and yin yang principle. Some products are perceived as warming – building qi, while others are considered to be cooling – eliminating qi. Thus, when a breakfast consisting of yoghurt and a banana will always have the same nutritional value in accordance with Western medicine, no matter who consumes that breakfast, in traditional Chinese medicine it can be considered as beneficial for people who are deficient in yin, but harmful for people with yang deficiency. Dietetics in Chinese medicine takes also into account external factors such as time of the day or seasonality. Some products will have a positive effect only when consumed, e.g. in the morning, while others, e.g. in the evening. Some will build qi for example only in winter while others in summer.

Dietetics is an essential element of the overall treatment. The dietary advice we offer is free of charge, included in the treatment plan.

HEALTH EXCERCISES

According to traditional Chinese medicine, the main energy channel qi runs along the spine.

Over time, the body posture changes. The spine as well as the entire skeletal system is constantly subjected to compressive and tensile forces, sometimes leading to curvature or contracture of the spine, limiting its mobility and thus the mobility of internal organs, which may at the end result in the oppression of nerve roots. Disorders of the spine and the whole musculoskeletal system may be the cause of certain ailments, especially in the elderly, which is why it is recommended to do systematic physical exercises.

As part of the therapy plan, the patient receives a set of exercises to support the overall treatment.

We also offer physiotherapy for people who suffered from injuries, as well as for athletes who require regular care to maintain good health condition.
